Another year without blog posts. Time and energy spent caregiving, an unsuccessful bathroom renovation, and dealing with my own health issues has left precious little time and energy for either reading or writing. Hoping this coming year will be different.
As usual, the latest WP updates have seriously interfered with my theme modifications. It’s been a long time since I last did a child theme, so I’ve been doing a lot of reading. Things have changed a lot since 2009! The parent theme I’ve been using since 2009 is apparently not being updated any more. I’ve found and purchased a similar one, and will build my new child theme on that. In the meantime, I’ve switched over to the standard Twenty Seventeen from Automattic.
In addition to building the child theme, I’ll have to fiddle with sidebars and menus. For now, please be patient while I delete old stuff that no longer works, and try to get back in the habit of writing regular blog posts. Looks like I also need to update my SSL certificate. Oh, joy.
